Pretzels

Pretzels
by Juan Pablo

Pretzels are a golden brown snack food that you can find in the U.S.A. at carnivals, gas stations and in other places. Pretzels are made of yeast, salt, eggs, hot water, flour, and sugar. I kneaded the dough, then with the dough I shaped my initials “J.P.” I baked it till the outside was crusty. I liked it a lot!

Pretzels
Hi guys cooking is fun but I want us to get to 5,000 likes thx. Pretzels is a type of snack food.

First, you need salt, yeast, hot water, flower, sugar. Second, you need to put yeast and the hot water in a bowl. Third, put everything in the bowl. Next, mix the bowl up with a wooden spoon. Then, you knead the dough and make any shape you want. I made a pretzel shape and a chicken shape.  You can find them in the USA, Walmart, and in cafeterias. It was a good pretzel so yeah, I enjoyed it.

Stromboli!

Strombolis are a type of turnover made from pizza dough, cheese, Italian meats and vegetables. They were invented in the United States in the 1950's according to Wikipedia.

You will need:

Cutting board or a clean smooth surface
Rolling pin
Blunt knife
Baking tray

Ingredients:

Pizza dough (personal size)     Pepperoni
Mozzarella cheese                    Oil
Parmesan cheese                      Pizza sauce
Melted butter/ oil                       Flour

Directions:

  1. Dust the surface of a cutting mat/board with flour.
  2. Take an individual portion of pizza dough and lightly flour the outside of it so that it is soft and smooth, not sticky.
  3. Use a rolling pin to roll the dough evenly to about 1/4 thickness. Add very small amounts of flour as needed to prevent stickiness.
  4. Spread about 1/3 cup of mozzarella cheese evenly to 1/2 inch of the edge of the rolled dough.
  5. Arrange 5 slices of pepperoni, if desired.
  6. Sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese on top.
  7. Start at one edge and tuck and roll until it takes the shape of a spiral. Make sure that you end with the dough rolled over, like a flap of an envelope.
  8. Cut 3 diagonal slits on top.
  9. Brush top with melted butter or oil.
  10. Sprinkle Parmesan cheese on top for added flavor.
  11. Bake on sprayed pan for 15 minutes @ 375 degrees.
  12. Add sauce to the top and savor the taste!

First grade was in their element with this recipe! Action was the key word (unspoken)!
